TLDR: the sales people were truly delightful, the finance guy was a total jerk.
Overall, Oxmoor was fine as far as dealerships go. I had a very pleasant experience when working with my internet sales person and an incredible experience with our product specialist. I love the car that I purchased, especially considering I drove 8 hours to purchase it.
However...I certainly could've gone with out the condescending, pretentious, and (honestly) ignorant finance person. When we received our purchase order, the "taxable amount" of the vehicle was $1100 greater than the base price that we had agreed on. Of course, I wanted to know what I was being taxed on besides the vehicle itself (dealership fees? The Pulse Breaking system the dealership added? Totally fine if that's the case). However, when I added these numbers up, they did not amount to an additional $1100 - so where was the extra cost incurred? When I pressed the finance person for a clear answer he threw his hands up in the air and said "I just put the number in the box and it came back like that - it's the fault of your home county's taxes". (Spoiler: it's illegal in my home county to be taxed on anything other than the vehicle and dealership fee/added items sooo...what else could it be??) The finance person then informed me I should have never even been aware of the base price of the vehicle and that was the "fault" of my internet sales specialist, who he stated would not be working there much longer because of this issue (I highly doubt that, I think he's a liar and talks a big game to avoid being blamed for not knowing how to do his own job). Prior to going to Oxmoor, I had read poor Reddit reviews of scams and dishonesty like this occurring at this dealership, but honestly they probably happen at all dealerships. It's tough to give a negative review because our sales people were so great, but the finance guy really tainted my opinion.
